Registration open for two senior tourneys

Registration is open for the 28th annual Georgia Senior Championship and the 17th annual Georgia Senior Women’s Championship. Both are Georgia State Golf Association tournaments.

The senior men will compete Aug. 26-28 at Doublegate Country Club in Albany. The tournament is open to male amateur golfers who are at least 55 years old on or before the event’s opening day. The field of 144 players with the lowest USGA handicap indexes will compete over 54 holes of individual stroke play, with the field cut to the low 70 players and ties — and anyone within 10 strokes of the leader — after 36 holes.

The senior women will play Aug. 25-26 at Big Canoe Golf Club. The tournament is open to female amateur golfers who are at least 50 years old on or before the event’s opening day. The field of 144 players with the lowest USGA handicap indexes will compete over 36 holes of individual flighted stroke play.

Registration for both tournaments is available through Aug. 6 at gsga.org. Any questions regarding GSGA competitions may be directed to the rules and competitions department at (800) 949-4742 or info@gsga.org.
