LED scoreboard ready for use at Bandy Gymnasium

Submitted by Dalton State College

— Workers from Fair Play completed installation of the new seven-foot scoreboard at Dalton State College’s Bandy Gym this past weekend.

The new LED (light-emitting diode) board, sponsored by Dalton Utilities, represents completion of the gymnasium’s extensive remodeling, funded by private donations to the school’s athletic department.

“We wanted to have something that was impressive to make a statement about our athletic department, our school, and the direction we are headed,” Dalton State athletic director Derek Waugh said. “We cannot thank Dalton Utilities and Avery Hendrix of Fair Play enough for making this possible.”

Bandy Gym is the home of Roadrunners volleyball and competition cheerleading It is also an alternative practice site for basketball.

In addition, the school’s intramural sports make use of the facility.

“I think this addition to Bandy Gym will really (impress) not only athletic recruits but also other students considering Dalton State,” Waugh said.
