Dalton golfer in fifth at Four-Ball tourney

— Dalton’s David Noll and his partner, Woodstock’s Mark Strickland, are in fifth place and four strokes back heading into today’s final round of the Georgia Four-Ball Championship at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans.

Jack Hall, of Sea Island, and Savannah’s Danny Nelson are leading with a 10-under-par 134 through two rounds. Alpharetta resident Bob Royak and Robert Sheats, of Atlanta, are just one stroke back in second place.

Of the 72 teams that entered the tournament, the Noll and Strickland team are one of 44 to make the 5-over-par cut after Saturday’s second round. They shot a 71 on Friday and 67 on Saturday. The pair will begin at 9:20 a.m. today.
