— Heavy rains Friday and the expectation of severe weather on Saturday moved the second round of the Georgia Four-Ball Tournament to today.

The 54-hole tournament, a Georgia State Golf Association event, started Friday and was scheduled to finish today. Competition is taking place at Albany’s Stonebridge Golf and Country Club (championship through third flights) and Doublegate Country Club (fourth through seventh flights).

Several local golfers are taking part, and all were in the top six of their respective flights after the opening round.

In second-flight competition, Kyle Pettyjohn of Dalton and Chris Tallent of Rocky Face are tied with two other teams for third, while Calhoun’s Greg Brock and Dalton’s Howell Kerr are tied for sixth. In fourth-flight competition, Smyrna’s Cal Patterson and Dalton’s Tony Patterson are fifth. In fifth-flight competition, Dalton’s Dwight Hefner and Duane McMullen are tied with two others for third.
