Jamie Jones: Divas get real

Here are the notes and news items in the world of pro wrestling: The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) is fully expected to participate at WrestleMania 29 on Sunday.

WrestleMania 30? That’s up in the air. The Rock told The Associated Press he’s unsure if he will take to the ring at next year’s event.

• Reid Fliehr, the 25-year-old son of wrestling legend Ric Flair, passed away last week in Charlotte, N.C.

The cause of death is undetermined.

• WWE may produce a divas reality show. The three names in contention on an online poll are “Divalicious,” “Diva Diaries” and “Diva Complex.” I vote for “Waste of Time.”

The Local Corner: “A Fight for Hope” is Friday, April 12, at 8 p.m. at the TWA Arena at 2500 Reed Road. The wrest-ling show is a benefit for Nathan Panther, who is undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Admission is a $5 donation.

The main event features Tyler Sutton vs. Mikey Watkins in an inferno death match with special guest referee Rick Justice. Also expected to wrestle are Michael Cross, Chris Hart, Mickey Gotti, Torque, Drew Myers and more.

Action continues at TWA.

TWA Friday Night Brawl runs at 8 p.m. at the TWA Arena off Reed Road in north Whitfield County, about three miles north of the bypass. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 6 to 12; senior citizens 60 years and older with proof of age will be admitted for $3. Kids younger than 6 are admitted free. Any military member with proper identification will be admitted free. If it’s your birthday, you will be admitted free.

Action also continues at Renegade Championship Wrestling.

RCW runs at 8 p.m. Satur-days at 806 2nd Ave. in Chats-worth.

Trivia Teaser: Before becoming a pro wrestler, The Ultimate Warrior (Jim Hell-wig) was pursuing this profession in Marietta.

Check back next week for the answer.

Last week’s question: Sid Vicious’ son, Frank Eudy, was a cast member on which CBS reality show?

“Big Brother.”

Jamie Jones thinks now is a good time to plan for a trip to WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans. You can contact him at jamiejones@daltoncitizen. com or (706) 272-7723.
