Local lacrosse squad gets into win column

The Dalton Rebels lacrosse team picked up the first victory in the first-year program’s history with an 8-2 win against Tenness-ee’s Soddy-Daisy on Thursday.

Chase Andrews led the Rebels, a Dalton Parks and Recreation Department-affiliated team, with four points on two goals and as many assists. D.J. Hutcheson and Pryce Andrews each added three goals, while Sebastian Cruz added an assist.

The Rebels (1-3), who are coached by Mike Sanderson, are scheduled to host Chattanooga’s McCallie on April 6 at James Brown Park in Dalton.
