— North Whitfield’s boys and Bagley’s girls capped undefeated seasons by winning the team titles Monday in the North Georgia Middle School Athletic League tournament at Spring Lakes Golf Course in Murray County.

In the girls tournament, Savanah Satterfield’s 1-under-par 37 led the Lady Braves — who finished undefeated for the third year in a row — to a championship score of 134 in the nine-hole tournament.

Satterfield, whose score was good for medalist honors, was under par at the course for the second time this year after firing a 34 during the regular season.

New Hope (155) was runner-up in the girls tournament, with Gladden and Westside sharing third place at 170 and North Whitfield rounding out the field with a 185.

Shelby Satterfield (48) and Caroline Ridley (50) also scored for Bagley, while Sara Plemons (52) and Kristen Gibson (59) also competed.

New Hope’s score was compiled by Rylee Meritt (51), Autumn Thompson (51) and Aleaina Thompson (53), while Madison Smith (63) also competed for the Lady Kodiaks.

Scoring for Gladden were Tori Owens (44) and Peyton Hawkins (62). The Lady Braves did not have another player and took a 64 for their third score.

Westside’s score was compiled by Abby Canady (54) and Makenzie Mitchell (56), with the other counting round a 60 — the score shot by Lily Adams, Erin King and Alexis Hewitt, although only one score counted toward the team total. Abbey McKinney also competed for the Lady Rockets and shot a 61.

North Whitfield’s score came from Destiny Hill (61), Ashley Couch (62) and Serene Wiggins (62), while Jenna Bagley (63) and Shea Bagley (64) also competed for the Lady Pioneers.

In the boys tournament, North Whitfield’s 214 was one stroke better than Bagley, which was led by medalist Jake Keener, whose 47 was his best round this season.

Westside (234), New Hope (235) and Gladden (238) rounded out the boys field.

North Whitfield’s consistency throughout the lineup paid off as Dylan Jolley (51), Will Douglas (52), Trevor Owens (54) and Carter Staton (57) contributed counting rounds, with Will Brooker (58) and Jacob Hawkins (60) also competing.

In addition to Keener’s round, Bagley’s score was compiled by Hayden Hulett (50), Braxton Bates (57) and Jonathon Crow (61). Austin Billingsley (61) and Kade Greeson (64) also competed for the Braves.

Westside’s counting rounds came from Carson Frye (56), Chase Carter (57), Dylan Cable (60) and Billy Robinson (61), while Dylan Chastain (64) also played for the Rockets.

New Hope’s score was compiled by Haven Morgan (49), Riley Jordan (61), Trey Swinney (62) and Taylor Garlock (63), with Carson Johnson (64) and Trent Pilcher (64) also competing for the Kodiaks.

Gladden’s Chandler Simmons (52) and Evan Varnell (60) each had counting rounds, with the Warriors’ other scores a pair of 60s — the tally recorded by Brody Burchet, Ryan Carter and Jesse Wood, although only two of their rounds counted.
