Roadrunners enjoying success on the coast

The Dalton State College men’s tennis team earned an 8-1 win Monday in Hilton Head, S.C., against Malone University of Canton, Ohio.

The match is part of the Pro-fessional Tennis Registry Spring TennisFest Tournament.

The Roadrunners (7-2) swept the NCAA Division II school in the three doubles matches as No. 1 Adam Hornby and Nikolay Nikiforov won 8-2, No. 2 Juan Pablo Arguello and Lucas de Souza won 8-2 and No. 3 David Draghiceanu and Hadyn Fava won 8-3. In singles action, No. 1 Nikiforov won 6-4, 6-4, No. 2 Souza won 7-5, 6-0, No. 3 Hornby won 6-1, 6-2, No. 4 Arguello won 6-2, 6-1 and No. 5 Fava won 6-1, 6-0.

The match, not originally on Dalton State’s schedule, was a late addition for the Roadrunners’ trip to Hilton Head.
