Southeast freshmen football closes year with rout

Southeast Whitfield High School’s freshman football team closed its season with a 45-0 win against visiting Murray County on Monday.

Keaton McCutchen scored three touchdowns — on a 65-yard punt return and runs of 20 and 16 yards — for Southeast (4-2-1).

Cody Gillean added a 30-yard touchdown run, Brian Parks contributed a 10-yard touchdown run and Taylor Shirah found the end zone on a 5-yard run. Parks and Shirah each had successful 2-point conversion runs, along with Caleb McAtee.

Dylan Graham recorded a safety and Alan Camacho converted an extra-point kick.

Murray County did not report individual statistics by The Daily Citizen’s deadline.

Northwest Whitfield 14, Dade County 14: Paxton Pardee connected with Jay Jones on a 12-yard touchdown pass in the corner of the end zone in the final minute of the game as the Bruins (3-1-3) salvaged a tie on the road in their season finale.

Pardee also threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to Will Blan-chard and a two-point conversion pass to Noah Conry.
