Jamie Jones: Wrestlemania 29 pins down big bucks

Here are the notes and news items from the world of pro wrestling: Has The Rock wrestled his last match?

Maybe.

The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) told New York City radio host Peter Rosenberg that the match he wrestled against John Cena at Wrestlemania 29 “possibly” could be his final bout. Johnson said the only foe left for him to fight that “makes sense” is Brock Lesnar.

• Johnson’s hip surgery this week was deemed a success.

• Speaking of Wrestlemania 29, it was the highest grossing event in WWE’s history. It brought in $72 million, which is about $5 million more than Wrestlemania 28.

The Local Corner: TWA Friday Night Brawl runs at 8 p.m. at the TWA Arena off Reed Road in north Whitfield County, about three miles north of the bypass. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 6 to 12; senior citizens 60 and older with proof of age will be admitted for $3. Kids younger than 6 will be admitted free. Any military member with proper identification will be admitted free. If it’s your birthday, you will be admitted free.

Renegade Championship Wrestling runs at 8 p.m. Saturdays at 806 Second Ave. in Chatsworth.

Trivia Teaser: How many episodes of WCW’s “Clash of the Champions” appeared on TBS from 1988-1997?

Check back next week for the answer.

Last week’s question: Where was “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff actually born?

Montreal.
