Registration open for public links tourney

MARIETTA — Registration is open for the 25th annual Georgia Public Links Championship on Sept. 14-15 at Legacy on Lanier on Lake Lanier Islands.

The Georgia State Golf Association tournament is open to male amateur golfers who are members of a GSGA member club that is open to public play. Entrants must not have held privileges since Jan. 1 at any club that does not permit public play. Eligible players must enter at by Aug. 21.

The format of the event is 36 holes of flighted stroke play with a field of up to 144 players — 72 with the lowest USGA Handicap Indexes and a minimum of 63 drawn by lottery. Three exemptions are given to the host club and flight winners from the previous year.

Entries are also being accepted for the GSGA Senior Women's Championship and the Georgia Senior Championship through Aug. 7.
