Jamie Jones: Mysterio Jr. takes break; not ready to retire yet

Here are the notes and news items from the week in pro wrestling: Rey Mysterio is still a few months from returning to the ring. He is skipping WWE’s upcoming Mexico tour.

When asked about the prospect of retiring, Mysterio told wwe.com he hopes to wrestle into his 40s.

“I’m 39 years old and I know I’ve been doing this for quite some time, over two decades,” Mysterio said. “Retirement is, for me, something that’ll be down the road, but not within the next two or three years. I feel like, with how medicine is evolving, something will be out there soon that can help you heal from arthritis. That might be what helps my longevity and pushes me to keep performing.”
