Prep roundup: Lady Bruins continue to roll through tourneys

• Dalton’s boys and girls teams competed at the Warpath Invitational at Cherokee High.

The boys squad finished 29th of 30 teams competing in the 5K race.

“There was some high-powered competition there,” Dalton coach Karen Gaylon said.

Brandon Pineda finished in 18 minutes, 17 seconds and 108th place to lead the Catamounts, who also received scoring rounds from Sergio Aguirre (151st, 18:57), Jose Boyzo (161st, 19:07), Saul Izaguirre (165th, 19:14) and Eric Villalovos (169th, 19:28).

The girls squad finished 25th out of 26 teams in the 5K race. Ashley Parham finished 127th in 23:36 for the Lady Catamounts, who also received scoring runs from Beronica Hernandez (128th, 23:40), Fabiola Torres (155th, 24:28), Salma Soliman (162nd, 24:47) and Liz Cloud (163rd, 24:49).
