— The Georgia Rampage are already looking toward next season by adding prospective players for 2014 and holding tryouts later this month.

The Dalton indoor football franchise just completed its first season calling the Carpet Capital its home. After two years in the Ultimate Indoor Football League, next season the Rampage will be a charter team in the new Xtreme Indoor Football League.

The team has signed quarterback Telford Chatman, who most recently played in for the UIFL’s Lakeland (Fla.) Raiders. He has eight years of indoor football league experience. The Rampage’s 2013 quarterback was 2002 Murray County graduate Joel Statham, who indicated after the team’s last game he most likely wouldn’t return.

The Rampage also signed wide receiver Corey Alberty, who played at Georgia State University and began his indoor experience in 2009 with the Green Bay (Wis.) Blizzard. In 2013, he played with the Arena Football League’s Cleveland Gladiators and Pittsburgh Power.

The Rampage will hold a tryout at 2 p.m. on June 23 at the Score Indoor training facility in Fairburn. The fee to participate is $60 at the site or $40 if pre-registering online at the team’s website, GARampage.com. Fans also will be able to purchase 2014 season tickets on the website later this month.
