DMS track teams win at home

— Dalton Middle School’s boys and girls track and field teams both took first in their final home meet of the season this past Thursday, topping competitors from Heritage-Catoosa, Gladden and Christian Heritage at Dalton High School.

Individual winners for the Cougars and Lady Cougars were Naomie Arango (100-meter hurdles, 400), Ivan Calderon (shot put), Gracie Fortham (discus), Nykeijha Gay (shot put), Teneice Gordon (200), Essence Henson (long jump), Adan Rodriguez (800, 1,600), Olivia Ross (800) and Precious Sims (triple jump). Times and distances were not reported.

Team scores and order of finish outside of Dalton’s first places were not reported, nor were individual winners for Christian Heritage or Gladden.

Area middle school results are published on Mondays and Thursdays in The Daily Citizen. Coaches should send information to sports@daltoncitizen.com with the final score, outstanding performers, team’s overall win-loss record and league win-loss record (if applicable) and date and location of the competition included in the report.

Events that take place on Monday and Tuesday must be received by noon Wednesday for publication; events that take place on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday must be received by noon Sunday for publication. Events reported after the deadline or without complete information may not be published.
