Mathis and Satterfield lead Dalton water polo in victory

— The Dalton water polo team split a pair of matches Sunday at Mountain View Aquatic Center in Cobb County, beating Lake-side-DeKalb 9-7 but falling 18-12 to Marist in Georgia High School Water Polo Association competition.

Against Lakeside-DeKalb, Taylor Mathis scored seven goals and Josh Satterfield had an outstanding effort in goal as he saved 15 shots. Luis Rosales chipped in a pair of assists, while Matt Herd and Sean Lee each had a goal.

Against Marist, Herd had 10 goals, while Lee and Alan Trejo each had one goal and Satterfield notched 13 saves.

Dalton (6-8) returns to competition at noon Saturday, hosting Pope at either the Dalton Parks and Recreation Department’s John Davis Recreation Center pool (outdoors) or Dalton High School (indoors), depending on the weather.
