Dalton State runners place well in Macon

Dalton State College’s men’s and women’s cross country teams both earned top-three finishes Saturday at the Mercer Endurance Alchemy Invitational in Macon.

The men’s squad finished second out of 15 teams in the 8K race with 55 points, while Morehouse won with 46 points. The women’s team finished third  in the 5K race’s 12-team field with 71 points, trailing Point University (49) and West Georgia (26).

Paul Patterson finished fourth overall to lead the men’s squad, while Isaac Pacheco finished in 10th.

For the women, Natalie Espinoza-Hensley finished third overall, while Nayeli Jacobo placed sixth.

The other three scorers from each Dalton State team, along with all runners’ times, were not available by The Daily Citizen’s deadline.

The next meet for the Dalton State squads will be Oct. 12 at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton.
