Memorial held for bride killed in crash

A memorial service has been held for a newlywed bride who was killed in a car crash hours after her wedding reception.

The Marietta Daily Journal reports that hundreds of friends and relatives of 25-year-old Kali Shay Dobson Quinton gathered at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jasper on Saturday.

Authorities have said she and her husband were driving from their wedding reception when their car veered from the road. Officials have said Quinton’s husband was trying to avoid hitting a dog when the crash happened, and Quinton was thrown from the vehicle.

Georgia State Patrol officials have said they’ll conduct blood tests to determine whether charges will be filed in the crash.
