Flash flood warning issued in western Georgia

Associated Press

— The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning covering most counties in western Georgia.

Forecasters say the warning is expected to expire today at 6 p.m. Meteorologists in Peachtree City say isolated thunderstorms could produce lightning and winds of up to 40 mph and the slow-moving storms will travel north through Monday.

Officials say river flooding is a possibility through the middle of the week.
