The city of Kennesaw is offering to reimburse some drivers whose abandoned vehicles were towed after last week’s snow storm.
City officials say drivers whose abandoned cars created hazardous conditions on local roads and were towed between 11 a.m. Tuesday and 9 p.m. Thursday may be reimbursed for the towing fee.
Officials say drivers can visit the Kennesaw Police Department with a copy of their license, registration and receipt for the towing fee. Police will verify the location and cost of the tow.
In a statement, police Chief Bill Westenberger said the city typically doesn’t reimburse drivers whose vehicles create hazardous conditions, but is doing so in this case because of “the unusually extreme circumstances the storm caused.”
