Eight seeking three Fort Oglethorpe City Council seats

Eight Fort Oglethorpe residents, including three incumbents, have qualified to run for three Fort Oglethorpe City Council seats.

The general election will take place on Nov. 3.

Council seats up for election are those belonging to Harold Silcox, Louis Hamm and Steve Brandon.

Here are the eight people who have qualified as candidates:



Ward 2 candidates

• Incumbent James Harold Silcox, who lives on Diane Lane, also serves as the city clerk. He has been a legal resident of Georgia, of Catoosa County and of his council district for 26 years. He is 70 years old and retired.

• Local storeowner Earl L. Gray is 57 years old and has been a resident of Georgia all his life. He has been a legal resident of Catoosa and his council district for five years. He lives on Elaine Circle.



Ward 3 candidates

• Incumbent Louis H. Hamm lives on Gattis Drive and has been a legal resident of Ca-toosa and of his council district for 21 years. He is 58 years old and has been a Georgia resi-dent all his life. He works as a plumber and a pastor.

• Richard Egeland of Barrett Drive is 56 years old and has been a resident of Georgia, of Catoosa, and of his council district for 30 years. He works as a yardmaster at Norfolk South-ern Railroad.

• John Muina lives on Barnhardt Circle and has been a legal resident of Catoosa and of his council district for three years. He is 38 years old and has been a legal resident of Geor-gia for seven years. He works as a financial accounting manager.



Ward 5 candidates

• Incumbent Steve Brandon is 59 years old and has been a legal resident of Georgia and of Catoosa County all his life. He lives on Talley Circle and has been a legal resident of his council district for 32 years. He works as a plumber.

• David Erik Dunham lives on Stuart Road and has been a resident of Georgia, of Catoosa County, and of his council district for three years. He works as a financial advisor and is 33 years old.

• Gale Edward “Eddie” Stinnett is 64 years old and has been a Georgia resident all his life. He has been a resident of Catoosa and his council district for 40 years. He works as at North Georgia Welding.
