An autopsy reveals that a sheriff’s deputy who was found dead on an isolated road in central Georgia was shot in the head.
The Telegraph reports (http://bit.ly/YFNAtZ) that the autopsy was performed Monday on the body of 23-year-old Johnson County Deputy Khristal Wright.
Sheriff’s officials say a motorist found her body on a road in Laurens County Friday night. They said the deputy, who was off-duty at the time, appears to have died at the scene.
Sheriff’s officials say 21-year-old Davoris Demez Hodges of Wrightsville was taken into custody and was being held in the Laurens County jail. He’s facing charges of murder and armed robbery. It wasn’t known whether Hodges has an attorney.
