Dalton State volleyball adds another Bianchi

Dalton State College volleyball coach Bruna Langner has signed another player from her native country, Brazil, and another member of the Bianchi family.

While in Rio de Janeiro re-cently, Langner signed Larissa Bianchi, the younger sister of Alyne Bianchi, who played for the Roadrunners during their inaugural season in 2013-14. Alyne will be a senior this season as Larissa joins the squad.

Larissa, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter, said she has been an athlete “as long as (she) can remember,” according to a press release from Dalton State College, participating in gymnastics, swimming and synchronized swimming in addition to volleyball, which she began at age 11.

“Since I was a little girl I’ve been watching my family play volleyball,” Larissa said. “My (maternal) grandfather played for the national Brazilian team so even before I was born, my mom knew I was going to play.”
