"After Deadline" talks World Cup in special podcast

“After Deadline,” The Daily Citizen’s sports podcast, takes a break from its summer hiatus today as sports writer Devin Golden and a special guest — news editor Daniel Olson — shift the show’s usual focus from local sports to international soccer.

Big-time soccer fans, Golden and Olson discuss the World Cup in advance of Thursday’s opening game in Brazil. They talk about the United States’ hopes for advancing from group play, make predictions about the tournament overall and list their five must-watch games for the tournament during the early portion of the event.

The podcast is free to download and will be posted later today at daltonnow.com/sports.
