Northwest Whitfield freshmen finish year with OT win

Northwest Whitfield’s freshman boys basketball team ended its season with a 50-49 win Monday at home against Heritage-Catoosa. The win brings the Bruins to 11-6 for the season.

Northwest’s Grant Terrel hit two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to aid the Bruins’ comeback and then he made another 3-pointer in overtime to put Northwest ahead and provide the game’s final lead change. Heritage’s last-second shot missed and Northwest grabbed the rebound.

Will Blanchard led Northwest with 12 points and Terrel added nine points.
