"After Deadline" sports podcast - Episode 24 (free)

“After Deadline,” The Daily Citizen’s weekly sports podcast with sports writers Devin Golden and Chris Whitfield, discusses the Southeast Whitfield boys soccer team's 1-0 loss in the state semifinals to Johnson-Gainesville and the impending championship match Saturday at Kennesaw State University between Dalton's Catamounts and Johnson.

The duo will predict how many times Dalton's student fans throw baby powder into the air, an event happening after the Catamounts score, and why Johnson could offer problems for Dalton. Spring football practice is in the air, with discussions about why you'd want to forego spring practice for a second scrimmage game, and the GHSA state golf tournaments take place Monday in Augusta. Northwest Whitfield High School also will host a 3-on-3 basketball tournament Saturday at the high school, which Devin and Chris insist they would've dominated had they been able to play.

At the end of the show, the duo will decide one of the greatest eating debates ever, Waffle House versus IHOP, in the weekly "Food for Fought" segment.

The weekly podcast, which is recorded at the WTTI-1530 AM studio in Rocky Face, is free for download and posted each Wednesday at daltonnow.com.
