Dalton State cleans the glass against Faulkner

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — More than half of Dalton State College’s rebounds were offensive and led to many second-chance baskets as the Roadrunners took a 72-58 men’s basketball victory on the road over Faulkner University late Thursday night.

Dalton State (23-3) finished with 21 offensive rebounds while holding the Eagles to just nine. The Roadrunners led 39-33 at the end of the first half, but started strongly in the second half and led by as many as 18 over the defending Southern States Athletic Conference champions. Dalton State joins the SSAC next year.

LaDaris Green led the Roadrunners with 19 points and 20 rebounds. Preston Earle and Demetrice Jacobs each finished with 12 points, and Ricky Sears added 11.

Dalton State plays today at 4 p.m. in Marietta at Southern Polytechnic State University.
