DSC women win finalé

The Dalton State College women’s tennis team earned a 5-0 win in a rain-shortened match at home against Snead State to conclude its season. The teams concluded all three doubles matches but only two of the six singles matches before inclement weather stopped play.

Dalton State (10-7) earned doubles wins from No. 1 Laura Winter and Daniela Sanchez, 8-3, No. 2 Maria Alejandra Bejarano and Diana Narino, 8-0, and No. 3 Chelsea Powell and Lindsay McCutchen, 8-1.

Powell earned a 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 3 singles and Narino won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.

Snead State, from Boaz, Ala., is a seven-time Alabama Community College state champion.
